Your mission around waste reduction and recycling is great and appeals to me! What can I do to support the environment in Jordan?
- Avoid use of plastic!
- Do not accept plastic bags in supermarket- come with your own re-useable one
- Do not buy water in small plastic bottles- use the refillable jumbo water (there are companies who have glass containers!) and fill in your own bottles
- If you are a big consumer, buy your own purification plant
- Do not take coffee to go cups…there are many cool cups you can carry in your bag wherever you go!
- If you use prepared cups/pads for coffee machines, collect the used ones!
- Refuse straws
- If you have plastic waste, put it into the new yellow containers in Amman
- Work as volunteer in NGO’s to help reduce plastic waste
- If you have plastic bottles, separate them and put them in referring containers..do not mix them with other garbage
- Speak with your family, friends, collegues about this issue….jointly put separate collection containers in front of your house, office, etc.
- Organize a recycling workshop in your company/office…
- Speak with the owners of the cafes/restaurants, which you use frequently…convince them to reduce plastic or at least to put collection containers
